WSNTA – Social
winter warmer - Thu 22 January 2026

Following our very successful meal in february 2025 we are returning to Honicote House again in 2026.
Mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, there have been at least four successive houses of various sizes built at the manor of Holnicote over a 500-year period. Until the 20th century, it was owned by the Acland family. In 1944 they donated the entire Holnicote Estate ( along with Killerton, their Devon ancestral home ) to the National Trust. The combined value of both estates was estimated at £250.000 making this the largest single acquistion ever recieived by the Trust. In 1952 the National Trust leased Holnicote House to HF Holidays and it is now one of 15 charaterful country houses set in the UK's best loved National Parks and National Landscapes from where HF Holidays offer walking and special interest holidays.
