Projects WSNTA Have Supported – Dunster Castle

Picnic Table

A happy group of holidaymakers have their picnic at a new table supplied by WSNTA for the Dunster Castle Picnic Area. Two others are helping to cover the summer season at the Watermill Tearoom garden.

Dream Garden

Dream Garden seats we donated to Dunster Castle, as agreed by the members ot our 2015 AGM

Tramper

This is the “Tramper” we bought for Dunster Castle in 2008/9. It is battery driven, and available to visitors with mobility problems who may use it to explore some of the hilly pathways through the gardens and woods at the Castle.

Leather Gallery

A photo of one of the several Leather Hangings in the Leather Gallery at Dunster Castle. The hangings have been there many years, but are now brilliantly illuminated for the first time by a new discreet LED lighting system, funded by WSNTA, which permits good viewing without the damage associated with traditional lighting or daylight.

Metal Seats

In 2011/2/3 we funded the purchase of twelve of these attractive metal seats, which are being placed around the grounds at Dunster Castle.

Tenants Hall

WSNTA funded these interpretaiion panels in Tenants Hall

Curved Seats

At Dunster Castle, WSNTA member [and Castle Volunteer] John Allaway, and assistant gardener David Thresher, test-drive one of the two made-to-measure curved seats funded by the Association. Located near the shop/stables/toilets, they provide welcome seating for visitors to the Castle.

Bookshop Shelves

WSNTA funded the furnishing of the second hand bookshop at Dunster Castle to the tune of £ 1,000, which we are pleased to say has gone very well.
